To join SCL online or to register and pay for an SCL event online, you must first create a site user account. If you have any queries before creating your online account please email [email protected] or telephone 0117 904 1242.
If you have not already created an account, please complete the form below as required. Please note: All bookings made online require immediate payment with a credit or debit card but that we are unable to accept payment by American Express.
SCL membership costs just £125.00 for professional membership (UK and International) and £45 for full-time UK academics and provides a wide range of benefits - find out why you should join SCL here. Academic membership is only open to full-time UK academics. When applying for an academic membership please provide your ac.uk email address.
Trainee solicitors, pupil barristers and devils are entitled to apply for free membership of SCL until they qualify. This type of membership is not available online. Please see full details here. Trainee members are eligible to attend SCL events at the members' rate.
UK Students in full-time education: SCL provides free access to the entire content of this website for UK students in full-time education with an ac.uk email address. Students can sign up for free online membership by creating an account using the form below. You must provide a valid ac.uk email address in order to qualify for this category of SCL membership. Student members are eligible to attend SCL events at concessionary rates.
If you are unemployed or experiencing financial hardship and you would like to become, or continue your SCL membership there is a special rate of £22.50 for a six months' subscription. In order to apply for this reduced subscription rate please email [email protected] who will send you the appropriate form. All unemployed SCL members are eligible to attend SCL events at concessionary rates.
Please note: SCL is a body approved in the UK by HMRC and the annual subscription is an allowable deduction from earnings from employment for tax purposes.

SCL membership is on an individual basis only and is non-transferable.
