Mark Lumley, Committee Member
Mark is a commercial associate at Shulmans in Leeds, and deals with IT/IP related businesses including specialist software providers to financial institutions and trading organisations, as well as advising on outsourced IS requirements for trading businesses and in respect of on line trading & take the lead within the firm in these areas of advice. Mark also deals with a variety of business process and commercial advice to large & medium scale business which he finds assists in placing the IS work in context.
Prior to commencing a legal career, Mark worked for IBM in their contract services division assisting in large projects for AS400 based systems into customers including banks & finance houses.
Mark concluded a further LLM degree in Commercial Law in January of this year, his project being "the legal framework of an English based internet trading company". He plans to start a PhD later this year, in a law/technology crossover area. Mark is a past Vice Chair of Bristol YSG.
