The “big money” issues in technology disputes are often more about the contract terms than the technology. Large sums of money can ride on the outcome of legal disputes about issues such as implied terms, the validity of dispute and termination notices and the limitation and exclusion of liability. A panel of senior and junior counsel from One Essex Court will consider contractual and IP issues which commonly arise in technology cases and provide an update on recent Court of Appeal and Supreme Court decisions.
Topics to be covered will include:
· Exclusion and limitation clauses: recent cases
· Termination and the consequences of termination
· Implied terms and contractual construction: recent cases
· Recovery of staff costs as damages
· Quantum issues in technology cases
The event will be followed by drinks and networking.
