With the GDPR fully effective in just six months' time, how are preparations progressing?

Our speakers are drawn from in-house, private practice and the Bar, and will offer their differing perspectives of implementing and advising on the GDPR. Matthew Berridge will discuss the HR aspects of GDPR preparation, with a focus on privacy notices and consent, HR input to records of processing, and employee monitoring. Gideon Shirazi will discuss hacking, data breaches and what happens when things go wrong. Brice Schwey will speak about accountability and privacy by design.

Speaker Bios

MATTHEW BERRIDGE is an Associate in Baker McKenzie's Employment & Compensation team. His practice has a particular focus on managing global projects, multi-jurisdictional transactions and data protection compliance in the employment sphere. He has taken a leading role in several recent GDPR readiness and HR data protection audit projects.

GIDEON SHIRAZI is a barrister at 4 Pump Court with particular experience in technology and telecoms disputes. He has acted on a number of multi-million pound data protection disputes, as well as a range of licensing, trade secrets and other contractual disputes.

BRICE SCHWEY is a Senior Privacy & Data Protection Manager at RSA and has held Data Protection positions both in the telecom and insurance industry for the past 7 years. He is currently the lead SME for the GDPR programs both at RSA UK and RSA Group.

The cost of attending this event is £35 + VAT (£42) for SCL members, £70 + VAT (£84) for non-members and £10 + VAT (£12) for students and academics in full-time education, unemployed members or those experiencing financial hardship.
