Abusive and Offensive Online Communications: the current criminal law and the need for reform
Professor David Ormerod QC, Criminal Law Commissioner for England and Wales, presents the key findings of the Law Commission’s Scoping Report on online communications and sets out the recommendations for future work.
Professor David Ormerod QC was appointed Law Commissioner for criminal law with effect from 1 September 2010. His re-appointment for a further period of five years, to run from 1 September 2015, was announced by the Lord Chancellor on 27 March 2015. Professor Ormerod is Professor of Criminal Justice at University College London and a practising barrister and bencher at Middle Temple.

Non-members wishing to join the Society are entitled to membership of the Society valid for 12 months from the date of payment including full access to the content of the SCL web site www.scl.org, 6 copies of the SCL magazine "Computers & Law" plus notification of future SCL events.
