Craig McIntyre, Legal Counsel, Skyscanner
The Digital Economy Act 2017 received Royal Assent on 27 April 2017. It is an interesting piece of legislation, dealing with a bizarre combination of legal topics, including online age restrictions and pornography, automatic compensation, high custodial sentences for copyright infringement and effective exceptions to data protection legislation for public authorities and their suppliers.
Craig McIntyre, Legal Counsel at Skyscanner, will explore this recent legislation for SSCL, sharing with us some interesting perspectives from his position at one of Scotland’s most successful unicorn companies.
To join SSCL you must first join SCL. SCL membership includes at least 6 copies of the SCL magazine "Computers & Law" plus notification of future SSCL meetings. The cost of annual SCL membership including SSCL membership is £135.00.
