Website trading overseas Tax
Website trading overseas is a complex business. Getting the site right is only part of it – consideration must also be given to a whole raft of legal issues such as consumer rights and brand protection. One of the most complex of these issues is that of information security and this applies to all size of business including SMEs.
In this seminar, Jeremy Hilton, a leading information security consultant, will discuss the current and emerging security threats and what large organisations and their SME partners are doing about them. He will highlight some of the main points of the DTI Security Survey, and some surveys of SMEs.
Jeremy will also explain why he thinks SMEs don't focus particularly on security and finally how one might best approach risk assessment and risk management.
In order to determine the VAT consequences of website trading, the answers to three basic questions are required, these are Who, What, and Where? Without clear answers to these questions it is impossible to know the VAT treatment of website trading. That is why in this seminar Terry Colledge will take you through the implications of the different answers to these questions and highlight some of the opportunities and pitfalls.
Terry will also look at current VAT proposals of the European Commission which, if adopted, will have an impact on website trading.
