SCL Accreditation: Latest SCL Accredited Member

February 20, 2017

SCL is delighted to announce that another of its members has achieved
the status of SCL Accredited IT Lawyer.
Matthew Holman, a Principal in the Commercial
team at EMW LLP is the latest person to achieve the status. Fewer than 20
lawyers hold that status.

Mark O’Conor, Chairman of SCL, said, ‘SCL Accredited IT lawyer status
is designed to help identify those practitioners who are leading experts in
their field. SCL accreditation is not an easy thing to attain and we congratulate
Matthew on his achievement.’

Matthew Holman commented on his experience:

‘The SCL IT lawyers’
accreditation is a fantastic way of engaging with this niche area of the law.
It is a really engaging and interesting experience which pushes you to excel
and helps to communicate to your clients (whether internal clients or external
clients) that, when it comes to IT law, you mean business. The process of
completing the Foundations of IT law course is rewarding and I believe that
even the best IT/IP lawyers in the world would learn new things during their
attendance on this course. The SCL has helped me to develop and excel as an
IT/IP lawyer. Having the SCL Accredited IT lawyer badge beside your name is
going to help you stand out from the crowd and be recognised for what you are:
an expert in your field.’

James Geary, Head of Commercial at EMW, said ‘The Accredited IT
lawyer status recognises Matthew’s expertise in this niche area of the law and
helps to cement EMW’s position of strength as one of the UK’s leading law firms
for IT, IP and data protection legal services. I am delighted that his
accreditation has been successful: he has an encyclopaedic knowledge of this
area of the law and is equally good at commercial, common-sense advice. Well
done, Matthew.’
