Let people use it instead of a robust DM system. You need to control transactional documents. Wikis are another layer
Fall into the “I want wikipedia” trap.
Force your requirements to fit a wiki (yes, a really key point I think) wikis (like other technologies) succeed best where it’s a need seeking a solution rather than a solution seeking a need. When our ops guys came to us seeking a database where they could store and search their site reports, it was like a Eureka moment when we realised this was custom made for a wiki.
Don’t close off what people can use it for – we’ve been surprised (and heartened) by the applications that people have discovered .
