Opportunities to work with SCL

Here we will share details of current opportunities for SCL members, and those in the wider tech law sector, to work with us. This might be through one of our special interest Groups, or by getting involved in a new or existing initiative.

SCL Advisory Board – call for a volunteer to support the Chair of the Board

We are seeking a volunteer to provide administrative support to the Chair of the SCL Advisory Board.

The purpose of the SCL Advisory Board is to provide advice to the Board of Trustees of the Society on any matter as requested by the Trustees. Also, to discuss developments related to the Society’s mission (to inform and educate legal and technology professionals, academics and students and the wider audience on the impact of IT on law and legal practice through the promotion of best practice, thought leadership, and the fostering of a global tech law community) and advise the Society (including in writing) on relevant trends, themes and emerging issues. The Advisory Board is made up of a non-fixed number of members of the Society. You can see the current Board members here.

The Board meets 4 times a year and the role will include taking notes and actions from board meetings, circulating agendas and meeting notes but also the opportunity to have a voice on the Board and contribute ideas and feedback.
This would be an ideal role for a Trainee or Junior lawyer. In return for your support the position offers a fantastic opportunity to network with senior practitioners and thought-leaders and help shape the conversation.
