Government Response on ‘Copyright in the Knowledge Economy’

March 4, 2009

In a broadly conservative response, the Government has outlined its views on th e range of questions about copyright which are raised by the EC Green Paper ‘Copyright in the Knowledge Economy’.

Where the Green Paper hints at the need for change in the light of technological developments, the UK response is almost invariably supportive of the status quo and of the power of the market to find solutions. For example, the response on user generated content would probably not recommend itself to YouTube users.
