Google Search Anti-trust Commitments Published

February 14, 2014

SCL readers will recall that the EU Commission reported on 5 February that it had obtained commitments from Google about the ‘comparable display of specialised search rivals’ services. The full text of the improved commitments proposal from Google in the context of the ongoing antitrust investigation on online search and search advertising has now been published. In essence, Google has accepted that it will guarantee that, whenever it promotes its own specialised search services on its web page, the services of three rivals will also be displayed in a way that is clearly visible to users and comparable to the way in which Google displays its own services.

The full text of the commitments is available at https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bw8Krj_Q8UaETUkxamxfMk02TUk/edit?pli=1
