An opportunity to ask questions and discuss this topic with the speakers will add depth and insight to the event and you will gain valuable takeaways to apply in your practice.

Who should attend:

  • IT Lawyers (in private practice and in-house)
  • IT Law academics and students
  • Tech sector professionals & managers who need to understand Group Litigation, Data Protection, Information Law and GDPR
  • Anyone interested in Group Litigation, Data Protection, Information Law and GDPR

Event outline:

Join 5 Essex Chambers’ team of data protection and information law barristers for this webinar where they consider the future of group litigation under the GDPR in England and Wales.

Since the introduction of GDPR six years ago, there have been many attempts to bring group litigation in relation to mass data breaches or wrongful processing. But group litigation under the GDPR in England and Wales has had a rocky path, with a series of judicial decisions placing roadblocks in the way of mass claims. In this breakfast seminar, experts in the field consider:

  • whether this is in the public interest
  • how those roadblocks might be removed or bypassed
  • whether group litigation in this area really is at the end of the road.
