SCL Tech Law ‘Green’ Dragons’ Den Competition

Sponsored by decoded:legal and Colt Technology Services
The Society of Computers and Law (SCL) is delighted to launch Green Dragons’ Den.

A competition to hear your ideas on how the law can embrace sustainability principles.

Are you a student or prospective trainee interested in tech, tech law, computer science, sustainability or ESG? If so, we would love to hear from you!

The challenge we’re setting is:

Which legal, environmental, social, or governance issue can be resolved with improved technology and how?

We want to hear your sustainability innovations and how they can improve the world we live in.

Examples of ideas are: Can AI be used to save rainforests? Will the metaverse increase access to justice? Can legal technology fight corruption?

What do you need to do to enter?
Submissions for the competition are now closed.

What happens next?
Selected entrants will be invited to an online event in 2024. This is the chance to present your idea to our Dragons and listen to others interested in sustainability, technology, and law.

You will be allocated a mentor from the SCL Trainee Lawyers Group who can help you prepare for the live Dragons’ Den event as well as support you on the day.

The Dragons
Our Dragons are experts in the field of technology, ESG, and the law.

Full details will be released soon.

The Winners
The winner(s) from the Dragon’s Den event will receive a work placement experience with a law firm or organisation prominent in the technology sector.

The Event
The Dragons’ Den final event will be held online in 2024.

In addition to hearing the sustainability ideas, you will also hear from a leading law firm’s Careers Team on training contract application FAQs and commercial awareness skills.

There will be presentations from the entrants and questions and advice from our Dragons.

The winner(s) will be announced at the Dragons’ Den event.

Who can enter?
We’re calling out to all students and prospective trainees to enter the competition, particularly those who are interested in technology, law, computer science, sustainability and ESG.
